Planning something for a hundred people in Miami usually comes down to three bad options: a hotel ballroom with all the charm of a conference lanyard, a restaurant back room that maxes out at forty, or a rooftop with a minimum spend that makes your eyes water. There is a fourth one people forget about, which is renting a pub that was built to hold a crowd in the first place.
If you are looking for a bar with private event space in Miami, the numbers matter more than the photos, so here they are first. The Leinster sits at 1600 NE 1st Ave in Edgewater, a few minutes from Midtown, Wynwood, the Design District and Brickell. Our main room holds 65 seated or 150 standing. The covered patio seats 30 or holds 50 cocktail-style. A full buyout of both takes you to 200 guests.

Our specialty is the cocktail reception, the kind of night where people are on their feet with a pint in one hand and a mini shepherd's pie in the other, not pinned to a seating chart. That shape suits corporate mixers, post-conference receptions, launch parties and milestone birthdays, and it is the reason we can hold 100 to 150 people comfortably without turning into a banquet hall.
The room is already wired for the working part of the evening. There are 10 monitors throughout the venue (9 TVs and a pull-down monitor) with HDMI and a dedicated sound system, so a slide deck or a sizzle reel is a five-minute setup rather than an AV rental. There is a live music stage, which bands and DJs use most weekends and keynote speakers borrow during the week. Outside, the covered patio is string-lit and shaded, and it works either as its own space for a smaller mixer or as the overflow that gets you to a full buyout. What it costs, in plain numbers
Food runs on all-inclusive packages instead of a sit-down menu. The hors d'oeuvres package is $39 per person and you choose three items, from Clarke's spring rolls and Irish sausage rolls to mini fish and chips, buttermilk tenders, wings or a Bavarian pretzel. Any extra item is $12 per person, and a dessert add-on (Bailey's key lime pie or Guinness chocolate cake) is another $12 per person.
Drinks work in three tiers, or simply on consumption if you would rather keep it open. Tier 1 is $38 per person for beer and wine, Tier 2 is $48 and adds well spirits and the classic cocktails, and Tier 3 is $65 with our signature cocktails included. Packages start at a 15-guest minimum, a 23% service charge and tax apply, and an extra hour runs $15 to $25 per person depending on the tier. To hold a date we ask for a 50% deposit at least a week out, and that deposit comes straight off the final bill on the night.
The corporate happy hour that does not feel like a work event
Plenty of the groups who ask about a private room end up doing something simpler: they take the patio on a weekday evening, keep the tab on consumption and let people drift in after work. That is partly a geography thing. Edgewater and Midtown are close enough that a team from a Midtown office can walk over, and our own happy hour runs Monday and Wednesday through Friday from 4 to 7 PM with $8 imperial Guinness pints, so the first round of a networking mixer costs you very little.
It also helps that the room has a pulse before your guests arrive. We are Edgewater's sports pub the rest of the time, with the sound on for Premier League, the Dolphins, rugby and the rest of the fixture list, and the kitchen sending out fish and chips and Irish stew from the full menu well into the night. A private event in a pub that is already busy feels like a night out. A private event in an empty rented room feels like a meeting with drinks.
How to figure out if the room fits
The honest answer is to come see it. We do not take table reservations for a regular visit, so pull up a stool on a Wednesday or a Saturday, have a proper pint, and look at the space with your headcount in mind. Most people work out in about ten minutes whether their 80 guests want the main room, the patio or both.
