Green Leinster Lager: Miami's Own Green Beer

Our green beer has a name. The story behind the Green Leinster Lager, what else lands on the St. Paddy's drinks list, and when you can get one in Edgewater.

Every March somebody walks up to the bar in Edgewater and asks if we do green beer. We do, and ours has a name. The Green Leinster Lager is the green pint we pour at The Leinster, so if you have been hunting for green beer in Miami, that is the short answer. The longer answer involves a Guinness championship, an outdoor stew station and about 189 photos, so pull up a stool.

What the Green Leinster Lager Actually Is

The Green Leinster Lager is the pint that runs as part of our full St. Patrick's Day specials. It turned up on day one of our first St. Paddy's weekend, March 14 through 17, 2026, and it was still pouring on the holiday itself. Doors opened at 10AM that Saturday, the place was packed by noon, and green beer was flowing while the DJ kept things loud until 2AM.

It is a lager, which is the point. Miami in March is warm, our patio fills up fast, and a cold light pint is what people actually want in their hand between rounds. Plenty of guests ordered one purely for the photo, and honestly, with leprechaun hats and shamrock glasses everywhere you looked, we understood. You can see how the whole thing went in our St. Patrick's Day recap, all 189 photos of it.

The Rest of the St. Paddy's Drinks List

Green beer gets the headline, but it shares the bar with the black stuff. On St. Patrick's Day the specials ran all day: Guinness and shot combos, the Green Leinster Lager, Irish spring rolls, sausage rolls, bangers and mash, and our award-winning Irish stew served straight from the outdoor station. Irish dancers worked the patio, a live guitarist played under the string lights, and the sound did not really stop for three days.

The Guinness is the reason a lot of people keep coming back the rest of the year. Every pint here follows the two-part pour and takes 119.5 seconds, because rushing it is the one shortcut we will not take. If you want to test your own form, the Split the G Challenge is always on. Take your first sip, try to land the line dead centre on the G, and a clean one puts you on the Hall of Fame. We ran a four-round championship over St. Paddy's weekend and the winner walked out with free Guinness for a year.

When You Can Get a Green Pint in Miami

Green beer is a March tradition and we treat it like one, which means the Green Leinster Lager is tied to the St. Patrick's Day run rather than sitting on the taps year round. That said, being Irish in Miami is not a one-week-a-year job. On Thursday, September 17 we are throwing our Halfway to St. Paddy's and first anniversary party, with free Guinness while it lasts and live music, and the RSVP is free.

The rest of the calendar is simpler. Happy hour runs Monday and Wednesday through Friday, 4 to 7 PM, and an imperial Guinness pint is $8. No coupons, no app, no catch. We are closed Tuesdays, so build your week around that one. Otherwise we open at 3PM most days, noon on Saturday, and 9AM on Sunday for the football and a Full Irish.

What to Drink It With

A green pint on its own is a laugh. A green pint with something proper in front of you is a night. Our kitchen does the classics without cutting corners: Fish & Chips ($24) with fresh Atlantic cod in a light beer batter and thick hand-cut chips, Shepherd's Pie ($19) with lamb and beef under buttery mash, and Bangers & Mash ($19) with Irish-style sausages and onion gravy. The Irish Stew comes with brown bread and is the dish that quietly won St. Paddy's weekend. If you want the loud option, order the Irish Spice Bag and share it, or do not, we will not tell anyone.

We are at 1600 NE 1st Ave in Edgewater, a few minutes from Midtown, Wynwood and Downtown, with street parking on NE 1st Avenue and the Metromover a walk away. There are no reservations and no list, so just walk in and find a stool. If you want to check what is pouring, ring us on (786) 937-8122 or say hello through the contact page. Sláinte.
